Cgminer and Cudaminer Guide

Most sites have a how to guide but explain little to nothing at all like creating your bat launch file and such.
I will not be covering how to add Cpu miner with proxy until i understand it fully my self, so Cpu miner guide: Coming soon!!

First thing your must do is make a wallet.
Best site for DGC trading and a wallet in my opinion is coinex.pw
Make go to account balances go in find DGC then click Generate this will be your wallet code for DGC remember this.

Step 1. Choosing your pooling site.
I prefer http://www.digicoinpool.com/

Step 2. Signup.
1.Then go to the Dashboard then hover till you see my account then click My Workers.

2.On the page you should see this.

3. set your worker name and pass to what you want you will need it for the miner.

Step 3. Choosing your miner.
1. Cgminer best for amd users: http://tinyurl.com/3pnty2z

or

2. Cudaminer best for Nvidia requires no setting added it will auto setup on start:http://tinyurl.com/md3zts7

Step 4. Extract your Miner into your download folder.

Step 5. Time to create your bat file.
1.Right click on your desktop then make a new text document, -When it asks for a name make it launcher.bat instead of .txt -

2. Right click on the .bat file open it up and place this code inside You will need to change Otakusama to your computer profile name.
Cuderminer bat script:
Code: Copy under here.
c:
cd \Users\Otakusama\Downloads\cudaminer
cudaminer -u WorkerUser -p workerpass -o stratum+tcp://pool.digicoinpool.com:3344
pause

Or for amd users.

Cgminer bat script: The place your see --scrypt you need to find the scrypt for your card, can be found here
http://bit.ly/1cSSoHU To make it easier on your i placed an = were to paste your code.
Code: Copy under here.
c:
cd \Users\Otakusama\Downloads\cgminer-3.6.4
cgminer --scrypt = -u WorkerUser -p workerpass -o stratum+tcp://pool.digicoinpool.com:3344
pause

Step 4. You should be to go! Just click start on your launcher.bat

Help: If your in need of help leave a comment ill get back to it as soon as possible.

You can mine with a CPU, but the payout is much less than if using a GPU, especially if doing it solo.

What are the values you put into your conf file?

I don't make a conf file, I never read that I must make a conf file.
I work with windows 7
Where make I the conf file and wat are the rules in the conf file?
What are the advantage for solo minning.
I don't have a good grafic card voor GPU minning.

For solo mining - can use the wallet for CPU mining.

Not sure if you need a conf if using the wallet to CPU mine.

Advantage of solo mining - you get the block reward to yourself.

Con - your hashrate will be very, very, very small compared to the network. Can take a very long time to get a block.

Ok, I'm a programmer and this still doesn't make sense to me.

Cudaminer shows errors, I'll go in to that in a minute.

I can't believe how difficult it is to get a simple click and run application. The DigitalCoin miner client from http://digitalcoin.co/ has stuff about "threads" and "scans". Yet there's no information anywhere regarding this, it's almost like people don't want to say.

What exactly are these "blocks" I'm "synchronizing" with on some unknown "network"?

All I want to do is set up a single test PC mining from the GPU in to a pool i've got at http://www.digicoinpool.com/

When running the batch file I get this:
[2013-12-06 12:54:17] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://pool.digicoinpool.com:3344
[2013-12-06 12:54:17] 1 miner threads started, using 'scrypt' algorithm.
[2013-12-06 12:55:45] stratum_recv_line failed to parse a newline-terminated string
[2013-12-06 12:55:45] ...retry after 15 seconds
[2013-12-06 12:56:22] Stratum connection failed: Failed connect to pool.digicoinpool.com:3344; No error
[2013-12-06 12:56:22] ...retry after 15 seconds

Any idea what's going on here?
Also with the digital coin client, there is no "digitalcoin.conf" in the zip?! This should all be very simple but I've been bashing my head on the table for the past hour or so getting this to work due to the serious lack of information anywhere.

I must have downloaded about 5 different miners, a couple of which are probably malware.

"Blocks" are transaction IDs (TXID). In essence, synchronizing with the blockchain is like downloading a file via torrent. Once fully synchronized (aka becoming a seed) all TXIDs are available on your computer. Unlike a torrent, the blockchain is constantly growing and updating, thus it needs to synchronize each time the wallet is opened.

Which miner software are you using?

Digitalcoin.conf is a file you create on your own and put into the APPDATA/Roaming/Digitalcoin folder. It basically adds nodes to the network, or allows for solo mining.

I would mine Sercurecoin (SRC) instead, that is a CPU only algorithm. DGC is best to be mined on an ATI GPU. SRC was developed by Baritus too.

Choosing your miner.
1. Cgminer best for amd users: http://tinyurl.com/3pnty2z

Might be a good idea to add that the highest version you can have for mining with a GPU is 3.7.2.

Already Bremy has fallen for the trap of shiny new things must be better!
