Update: with the recent fork / block adjustment the settings should be changed.

See: http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,194.0.html

Hi everyone,

I've completed some extensive testing at a few pools now and cgminer seem to cycle loads more accepted shares with;

EDIT: --scan-time 40 --scan-time 20

EDIT:  --expiry 120 i.e. 'default'  --expiry 60  --expiry 40

These changes seem to keep the highest local / WU output fairly constant on two very different GPU's I'm using and should therefore be best values for pool mining.

Anyway, please test it with your own set-up and let me know if you see an improvement.

Thanks!

What cards do you use?

What cards do you use?

Tested multiple pools and have been up and running for a good few months now with these cards;

8950 OEM - yes - 8950  :)
6670 2GB
7750 2GB (850 factory overclocked)

--scan-time 20
--expiry 60

Which seems to be an optimal 'generic --expiry' for most pools currently when mining DGC - edited OP.

I'm guessing that both of these settings can be tuned down quite a bit and are only really a generic upper bound.

cgminer could actually use some tweaking for digitalcoin. It was originally designed for Bitcoin mining after all.

When I obtain the new hardware that I'm looking to do builds for - I'll start work on a custom miner.
